Avoid Scams and Fraud
Online interactions bring the heightened risk of scams and fraud. You should always be mindful
before providing anyone your personal information, and especially before sending payment of any
kind. Rent Condor works hard to provide our users with the freshest and most comprehensive
library of rental listings, but fraudsters are also working to scam you out of your hard earned
money. Customer
awareness is critical to avoiding scams for rentals sourced anywhere.
Be notified we do not participate in any rental transactions and cannot refund your money if you
are scammed. Rent Condor is not a rental broker, landlord, or real estate agency. While we work
around the clock to ensure that you have a positive experience
using our site, we cannot guarantee that our site is 100% free from false or fraudulent
listings.

and
- Investigate suspicious and fraudulent listings, where applicable
What We Ask You to Do
Be vigilant in looking out for scams, for rentals sourced from Rent Condor or anywhere else!
Here are common red flags:
- Rent Offered Below Market: Scammers use this tactic to create a sense of
urgency and motivate innocent renters to close quickly by sending funds to
secure a deal.
- Request to Wire Money: Legitmate landlords do not use money wires or
services like Western Union, MoneyGram, etc.
- Claim Affiliation with Us: Rent Condor does not participate in leasing or
landord / tenant transacations. Scammers might say that they are affiliated with
us to prove legitimacy.
- Refusal to Meet in Person / Dramatic Landlord Story: A legitimate landlord will meet
in person to tour
the property. Don't listen to stories like: "I am sick and can't meet up, please
wire the money to secure your spot." or "I'm currently stationed abroad, I am
unable to show the property."
- Grammar Errors Most landlord / tenant transactions are local ones,
conducted by professionals living and working in the same area. Repeated typos or
English syntax that doesn't look normal might be indicative of a scam. Serious landlords
review their work for quality.
